What materials can be applied using laser cladding?
Stainless steels, nickel or cobalt superalloys, and composite materials such as Ni-WC can be applied to protect against wear and corrosion.

Extension:
The materials that can be applied by laser cladding are metals and metal-ceramic composites known as cermets or Metal Matrix Ceramics (MMC). The most common are highly alloyed steels, tool steels, hot-work steels, anti-wear solutions, and stainless steels, both austenitic AISI 316L and martensitic AISI 420. Nickel superalloys, Inconel 625 and 718, and cocalcite superalloys, Stellite 21 or Stellite 6, are also widely used. The most relevant MMCs are nickel-based solutions with tungsten carbide content, typically between 40 and 60 percent by volume.
